My Solution: A 4-Step Google Ads & YouTube Strategy:

We built a performance-focused funnel that combined Google Shopping, Performance Max, and YouTube ads - all optimized for conversions.

Step 1: Nail the Basics with Google Shopping:

  • I launched Shopping and Performance Max campaigns to reach high-intent buyers.

  • Focused on keywords like “deodorant for body odor,” “long-lasting deodorant,” “7-day deodorant”.

  • Optimized product feed and titles within the Merchant Center for maximum click-throughs.

  • Used asset-rich PMAX creatives to cover Search, Display, and Discovery with minimal effort.

Step 2: Launch Targeted YouTube Ads:

We did something crazy! We launched free samples!

  • Gave away deodorant samples via Google Ads.

  • CPA for samples: A$1.50

  • Almost 87% of sample users came back to buy the full-sized product (A$36.95), resulting in a 2363% ROI!

Step 4: Retargeting & Brand Campaigns:

  • I launched Brand campaigns to capture demand from all YouTube and Shopping viewers.

  • Used retargeting campaigns to bring back cart abandoners and sample users.

  • Focused only on ROI-positive audiences, adjusting bids based on conversion history.

The Results (Most Recent):

  • Ad Spend Growth: Grew from $20/day to $1,500/day, scaled ROAS steadily
  • Sales Volume: Up to ~400 orders/day
  • Returning Customers: 87% Growth
  • CPA: Dropped by 80%
  • ROI: 2841% overall
  • Conversion Rate: Improved to almost 38.70% monthly.
